William C. Roybal
William C. Roybal, 65, husband of Bonnie (Keenan) Roybal of Janet Dr, Middlefield, died Monday, Sept. 1, 2008, at Middlesex Hospital following a brief illness. He was born November 14, 1942 in Middletown, son of J. Louis and Ann (Russo) Roybal.
He was a member of St. Colman Church, Middlefield, The American Legion, V.F.W. and had on the Middlefield Volunteer Fire Dept. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. William was an avid bowler, fisherman, Hunter, Golfer, Red Sox and Elvis Presley Fan. He had coached Little League baseball teams and girls' softball teams. He was the state king in Tops Club in 2005. He was employed by Pratt & Whitney, Marriott Hotels, Boyer Reality and Roybal Fire Equipment until his early retirement.
Besides his parents and his beloved wife and soul mate Bonnie, he is survived by two sons Thomas Roybal and his wife Carin Of Rocky Hill, Steven Roybal and his wife Christine of Middletown. A daughter Billy Joe Romano and her husband Vincent of Meriden. Two sisters Shirley Bauer and her husband Jerry of Rockfall and Betty Kindschi and her husband Kenneth of Middlefield. Two half sisters Deborah Schunk and her husband Kerry of East Hampton and Judith Hartke and her husband George of Middletown. Sister-in-law and brother in Law Kathryn and Nenninger and her husband Gary of Cromwell. Four grandchildren Lia Roybal, Andrew and Vance Romano and Dominic Roybal. A step grandson Joey Grabek, also many nieces and nephews and cousins. And his devoted Companion, his dog Lindsey.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Sept 6, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Colman Church, Middlefield. Burial will be in the family plot on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Center Cemetery, Portland with military honors. Relatives and friends may call at the D'Angelo Funeral Home, 22 South Main St., on Friday from 5-8 p.m. In Lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Middlesex Hospital Hospice Unit c/o Dept. Of Philanthropy 28 Crescent St, Middletown.
