Police investigating break-in and assault

Members of the Central District Major Crime Squad at Troop F in Westbrook are investigating a robbery and assault that occurred during the early morning hours on Monday, Sept. 29.

The incident occurred at 462 Main Street in Middlefield, at the Gemini One Hair Salon. The victim of the robbery resides in an apartment located above the business. The investigation has established that this was not a random act, and the victim knew one of his assailants.

The victim was transported to Hartford Hospital where he was admitted and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Central District Major Crime investigators, who were assisted by the Middlefield Resident Trooper's office and the Middletown Police Department's Street Crime Unit, have identified all the individuals involved in this particular incident.

The investigation is ongoing, and several arrests are anticipated.
