Wednesday evening, Sept. 24, was weigh-in time for the giant pumpkins exhibit at the Durham Fair. At the end of an exciting night, we are proud to announce that Connecticut has a new state record holder for giant pumpkins!

The giant pumpkin, grown by Matthew DeBacco of Rocky Hill, weighed in at a colossal 1,353 lbs! DeBacco's giant pumpkin crushes the old record by 182 lbs! Not only is this a new Connecticut state record, it is also a new Durham Fair record!
