Bernice B. Gulielmetti, born on August 24, 1924, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, at One MacDonough Place in Middletown.

She was a longtime resident of Durham. Daughter of the late Elsie and Joseph Lee, she is survived by her husband George of Durham, her daughters Linda Healy of Middletown, Jackie Nelson and husband Bill of Durham, Angela Gulielmetti and partner Randall McLean of South Portland, ME, grandson Joshua Nelson, granddaughter Sara Hartley and husband Brian, sister Lois Richardson and husband Frank of Coventry, and many nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by her first husband, Norman F. Healy and her brothers Joseph, Jack, and Everett Lee. She loved to travel with her family and was always game for a new adventure, whether it was a cross-country road trip, camping with her grandson, or trips to Europe with her "girls." She was an avid fan of the Red Sox, UConn women's basketball and Durham Little League, where everyone knew her as "gram" at her grandchildren's games. Bernice was a loving mother who lived to make the dreams and hopes of her children come true. She was the heart of our family, a constant source of love and devotion and glowing pride. Her family was her passion and the center of her life and she filled our lives with laughter, happiness and joy.

Memorial services will be at the United Churches of Durham, 228 Main St., Durham on Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, her family requests any donations be made to Amazing Grace Food Pantry, 139 Main St., Middletown, CT 06457 in memory of Bernice's spirit of giving to others.
